We Hope to See You on the Courts!
Recently, Washington College opened the use of its outdoor courts to anyone in our community. At the locked entrance gate to the courts is a sign offering access by scanning a QR code which will open an associated "app." The "app" offers 90 minute court sessions for a one-time credit card payment of $30 and gives a unique series of numbers to open the lock at the court gate.
There is no similar community use for the indoor courts, so to enjoy local tennis to the fullest, join the Kent County Tennis League!
As a KCTL participant, you get access to the college's tennis facilities, both outdoors and indoors, with unlimited court time (subject to college use) for a one-time fixed fee per season, and there is no additional charge per hour of court time. KCTL participation is a great way to meet tennis players in our community, arrange games or be a part of a group that plays regularly.
To have access to the indoor facilities you MUST participate in the KCTL or have a college affiliation as a faculty or staff member or join the Washington College's 1782 Society.
To be a part of KCTL, there is no initiation cost or annual dues. You simply pay a fixed fee shortly before a "playing season" begins and sign a liability waiver. The indoor season varies but is the six months scheduled from October 1 to March 31. The outdoor season is also six months and is dependent on weather, scheduled beginning April 1 and continuing to September 30. There is an option to play in either one or both seasons. The current cost per season is $300 per person. The fees are used largely to pay for use of the college's tennis related facilities.
By joining Washington College's 1782 Society you can have access to both indoor and outdoor tennis courts as well as all other campus facilities open to the community. This requires a donation each year to the college and includes an additional fee for using the campus facilities.
For more information about KCTL or to join, please send us an email. Describe your playing level and let us know if you would be interested in joining an existing group; and please provide the best way to reply. We look forward to hearing from you!
